The last couple of minutes have been nothing short of sensational! We finally have our first real glimpse at Star Wars: Episode VIII with the official reveal of…..
How beautiful is this? Both the title and contrasting colours of the logo appear to confirm the news that’s been circulating throughout the Star Wars Universe for awhile now. Star Wars Episode VIII is going to be dark, extremely dark. Both Adam Driver and Rian Johnson have said as much with Driver going so far as to compare the script to “ESB”.
As a fanatic of all things “Dark Side” I’m excited beyond belief to see what comes our way. The biggest thing id like to point out is, the “symbolism” found within the logo itself.
There’s a reason for EVERYthing in Star Wars, Notice how the Red Logo contrasts so beautifully with the dark background? We all know the meaning of the colour red and it’s undoubted links to The Dark Side. The colour red is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love.
Now if we examine “The Last Jedi” written in its brilliant white, that paints an entirely different picture. The colour white is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection. White means safety, purity, and cleanliness.
What fascinates me is the placement of ‘The Last Jedi” in it’s majestic white, sandwiched between the emblem we all know and love, yet this time appearing as a menacing red.
The last time we set our eyes upon something like this was during The Clone Wars. This of course led to the return of Darth Maul, credit to the Illustrious Blabba for pointing this out.
What do you think of the new title and what are you expecting to see? Get in touch and share your thoughts, we would love to hear from you.
As the news trickles through the grapevine, we will have more reaction to this epic breaking news!
Until Next Time,
May The Force Be With You
