Tourism Ireland have released another beautiful behind the scenes video of the now infamous shoot on Skellig Michael.
The last scene in Star Wars: The Force Awakens showcases Irish beauty like Hollywood has never shown before. It shows our heroine, Rey, climbing the steps, walking past the Clochán (Beehive huts) to find our hero Luke Skywalker standing on top of a beautifully rugged landscape.
Mark Hamill’s playful side may not be shown in the film, but it is available in floods here as he says Skellig Michael is “just indescribably beautiful”.
Joining Hamill on set is newcomer, now household name, Daisy Ridley, who is clearly taken aback by the island, describing it as ”literally looks like a rock that has come out of the sea”.
The entire Star Wars cast and crew, including director J.J Abrams were just blown away by the island, and have made it a must see destination for any Star Wars fan.
