Star Wars: The Force Has Awakened In Malin Head

Earlier this morning, the news broke of the arrival of the cast/crew of Star Wars Episode VIII arriving this morning to begin filming their scenes in the various locations across Ireland (More on that later).

Excitement as you can expect has reached epic proportions over in Malin Head. The biggest debate up until now has been the appearance of the “Millennium Falcon” with many raising the question of “Is it, Or Isn’t it?. This topic has intrigued everyone from die hard fans and general visitors alike.

What is certain however, is the enormous size of the structure of which you can get a closer look at here. The structure is said to be roughly 10 feet tall and 50 feet or more in width. The structure is located perilously on the cliffs in an area which is known for it’s spectacular views of the Northern Lights such as the image below:

They’re here!!!!!

The arrival of our director Rian Johnson, Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill, The beautiful Daisy Ridley who is of course Rey, and The Master of The Knights of Ren , Adam Driver as the evil Kylo Ren/Ben Solo.

Take a look below at the pictures provided by the Belfast Telegraph which were also shared with us by our good buddy Andrew.

As you would expect, the shooting will be top secret and there is widespread confirmation that landowners and locals have been sworn to secrecy.

The article above also shows how scarce access is to the local area with road closures and security checkpoints expected to keep everything watertight. In reports seen earlier today, it has been announced that no-fly zones have been implemented (Yes its taken that seriously), this will stop any airborne daredevil with keen camera skills from getting too close to the action.

Donegal County Council is overseeing road closures on the Malin Head loop from 08:00am local time every morning until 21:00 at night on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

As the excitement continues to rise, you can rest assured that Blabba The Hutt will be there with our finger on the button.
